Softball Closes Fall Slate With 1-1 Tie At Duke

DURHAM, N.C. – The NC State softball team closed out its fall schedule on Saturday afternoon with a 1-1 tie (10-inn) against Duke at Duke Softball Stadium in Durham, N.C.
The Blue Devils struck first in the fifth thanks to a pair of RBI singles and stolen base. The Wolfpack knotted the score in the eighth with Brigette Nordberg's leadoff homer, giving the team at least one home run hit in every fall contest.
Timberlyn Shurbutt and Haylee Kobziak tallied the team's other two hits in the contest, and both were two-out doubles.
Sydney Nester threw the first seven innings, giving up a total of seven hits and striking out five. Kama Woodall closed out the contest, and didn't allow another hit in the contest while striking out a pair of batters.
The team's schedule for the 2019 regular season will be released later this fall.
