Women's Tennis Tallies Wins in Los Angeles, Charleston

Reami, Rogers and Smith Earn Wins
PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. --Â Anna Rogers and Adriana Reami competed in the qualifying singles at the 2018 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships on Tuesday.
No. 66 Anna Rogers earned her third win over a ranked opponent in the opening round, defeating No. 51 Petra Melounova (Hawaii) 6-2, 6-4. Rogers then took on No. 46 Lauryn John-Baptiste (Arizona State) Tuesday in the second round of qualifying singles. She is now 5-0 in singles competition this fall season.Â
No. 59 Adriana Reami battled No. 25 Vanessa Wong (Washington), but fell in three sets: 2-6, 6-4, 7-5. Reami is now 1-1 against ranked opponents this season. In her consolation match, Reami bounced back and defeated Tijana Spasojevic (Texas) 6-3, 7-6 (6).

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Freshman Alana Smith is 4-0 at the Charleston ITF Futures Event through the first three days of competition.Â
Smith defeated Rushri Wijesundera on Sunday, 6-2, 6-4. In a 6-3, 6-2 decision on Monday, she defeated Josie Kuhlman to advance to the final qualifying round on Tuesday.
In an all-Pack matchup against former Wolfpack women's tennis player Joelle Kissell, Smith earned a spot in the main draw. She beat Kissell 6-2, 3-6, 6-1.
Smith opened up doubles competition on Tuesday in Charleston with Natasha Subhash. The duo took on the number two-seeded Tara Moore and Chanel Simmonds in the first round of the main doubles draw, winning 6-3, 3-6, (11-9).
UP NEXT
Smith will compete against Eunice Chong in the round of 32 Wednesday afternoon and will also compete in the quarterfinals of the doubles main draw.
