Leon Krapf Named USC National Player of the Week

Sophomore goalkeeper recorded two shutouts during week of October 8-15

RALEIGH – Sophomore goalkeeper Leon Krapf of the 21st-ranked NC State men's soccer team was named the United Soccer Coaches Division 1 Men's National Player of the Week, the organization announced Tuesday evening.

He was also named ACC Defensive Player of the Week for a span of two matches during which he helped shut out Longwood (W, 2-0) and No. 1 UNC-Chapel Hill (W, 1-0) in NC State victories.
Krapf and the Wolfpack return to action at home on Saturday, Oct. 20 when No. 24 Syracuse comes to Raleigh. Kickoff between the Wolfpack and Orange is scheduled for 7 pm from Dail Soccer Stadium. The match will serve as NC State's senior night and will be the final regular-season contest played in Raleigh this year.
