
NC State Concludes Competition at ECU Pirate Invitational

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Members of the NC State cross country team were in action at the ECU Pirate Invitational Friday evening, as the men's squad had three of its runners racing in Wolfpack uniform.
MEN'S 8K RECAP:
Kyle Christ, Noah Graham and Jack Hagood represented NC State in the men's 8K, all picking up top-35 finishes on the night. Christ ran a 25:21.83 PR on the way to crossing the finish line 17th, and Graham notched a personal-best time for the second meet in a row, placing 30th in 25:57.28. Hagood rounded out the Wolfpack's lineup at the meet, placing 33rd with a time of 26:10.12.
Racing unattached, freshman Nate Kawalec picked up a second-place finish, clocking in at 24:39.99. Freshmen Laderique McNeill (19th, 25:28.01), Ares Epps (21st, 25:29.72), Yared Mekonnen (23rd, 25:34.77) and Peyton Barish (36th, 26:26.30) were also in action at the meet.
WOMEN'S 6K RECAP:
Three of NC State's freshman competed unattached on the women's side of the race, as Sarah LaTour and Marissa Bishop appeared in their second meet of the season, and Sophia Rigg hit the course for the first time this fall.
LaTour was the top finisher between the three, crossing the finish line in 21:15.43 to take second place in the field. Rigg (21:25.65) followed right behind her with a fourth-place finish, and Bishop (22:40.96) placed 20th.
UP NEXT:
NC State will begin its postseason at the 2018 ACC Cross Country Championships on Friday, Oct. 26. The conference meet will be hosted by Boston College at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.
