Wolfpack Men Rise to #5, Women to #10 in Latest TYR/CSCAA Top 25

RALEIGH – The fifth TYR/CSCAA Poll of the season was released Wednesday morning and the NC State men's & women's swimming & diving team was again featured; the men moved up one spot to #5 while the women moved up five spots to be tied for #10.

The men earned 218 points to points to earn the #5 spot while the women had a point total of 176, leaving them with a ranking of #10. Southern California also received 176 votes to be tied with the Wolfpack for the #10 ranking.

California sits atop the men's poll with 274 votes and Stanford was tabbed #1 women's team with 300 votes.

Strength of the ACC
Once again, several ACC teams were featured prominently in the top 25. On the men's side, there was #14 Louisville, #19 Notre Dame, #20 Virginia Tech, #21 Florida State, #23 Virginia while Georgia Tech received votes.

Among the women's top 25 was #7 Virginia, #14 Louisville, #18 UNC-Chapel Hill, #19 Notre Dame and #25 Duke and #25 Florida State. Virginia Tech received votes.

From Feb. 2-4 the Wolfpack competes in the Janis Hape Dowd Carolina Nike Invitational. On Feb. 2 & 4 the meet will take place inside Koury Natatorium on the campus of UNC-Chapel Hill while on Feb. 3 it takes place at Duke's Taishoff Aquatic Pavilion.
