Ten From #PackXC Named To 2017 All-ACC Academic Cross Country Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Ten student-athletes from the NC State men's and women's cross country teams have been named to the 2017 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Cross Country Teams, as announced Tuesday by the league office. The group ties as the largest selection in program history.
2017 All-ACC Women's Cross Country Academic Team
All five Wolfpack women were key members of the 2017 ACC Championship squad, as they led the team to its 23rd overall and second-straight conference title. The women also repeated as NCAA Southeast Regional champions and earned their third consecutive top-10 national finish.
Henes, Koon, and Frazier claimed All-ACC honors for the second season in a row. Koon and Henes were also recognized as All-Region honorees, and Henes earned her status as an All-American with a 32nd-place finish at the NCAA National Championships.
2017 All-ACC Men's Cross Country Academic Team
The men's team finished third at the 2017 ACC conference meet and fourth at the 2017 NCAA Southeast Regional on the way to the program's highest national finish since 2011. Barrett was named to the All-ACC squad for his second straight season, and Shanklin took home All-Region honors after finishing 19th at the meet as a true freshman.
To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic Team, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade point average during the previous semester and maintained a 3.0 cumulative grade point average during their academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered.
The ACC Honor Roll for all conference student-athletes is set to be released in July.
