Davis, Frazier Pick Up Wins To Close Out Bob Pollock Invitational

CLEMSON, S.C. – After two days of competition against a solid slate of teams, the NC State track and field squad finished up at the Bob Pollock Invitational Saturday afternoon.
Joshua Davis and Ryen Frazier took home gold medals in the weight throw and the 3000m race, respectively. The Wolfpack athletes continued to show improvement, as nine new PRs were established Saturday. Additionally, six ACC Indoor Championships qualifying marks were achieved over the course of the meet.
THROWS:
Joshua Davis added another first-place finish to his already-impressive weight throw resume. His winning throw of 73' 11" (22.53m) came on his second attempt of the day. Tyson Fortenberry also made noise in the event, posting a career-best and conference qualifying throw of 59' 8.25" (18.19m).
JUMPS:
Michelle Cobb had a career day of her own in the triple jump. She recorded a 41' 1.75" (12.54m) jump, which was good for a new PR and an ACC Indoor Championships qualifying mark.
ON THE TRACK:
Ryen Frazier picked up another first-place finish for the Wolfpack. Her 3000m time of 9:25.76 put her almost 14 seconds ahead of the rest of her competition.
Philip Hall finished eighth in the men's 3000m race, shaving seconds off of his PR to record a 8:16.53 time. Kyle Christ also put up a personal-best performance, shattering his previous PR by over 13 seconds with a mark of 8:36.03.
Cravont Charleston, Abdur Rahmaan Kelly, Sam Krehnbrink, and Dylan Peebles ran the 4x400 relay and clocked a 3:14.66, the fifth-best mark for a men's 4x400 relay team in program history.
