Wolfpack Opens Weekend At Bob Pollock Invitational

CLEMSON, S.C. – The NC State track and field team began its weekend with three podium finishes at the Bob Pollock Invitational Friday. Three members of the Wolfpack posted conference qualifying marks, and NC State once again saw multiple athletes turn in new PRs on the first day of competition.
THROWS:
In the shot put, Lauren Evans finished in the top three for the third time in a row. She took home a bronze medal with a 49' 11.75" (15.23m) throw.
JUMPS:
J Johnson saw success in the long jump. He established a new PR of 23' 2.75" (7.08m), a mark that qualifies him to compete at the ACC Indoor Championships in late February. Lauren White also posted an ACC Indoors qualifying mark of 19' .50" (5.80m) in the long jump.
ON THE TRACK:
Bethany Neeley started the day strong for the Wolfpack in the mile. Her time of 4:51.09 was good for a second-place finish in the event. Joe Bistritz followed suit with a solid performance in the men's mile, improving his PR by over four seconds on the way to clocking a time of 4:08.46, good for a spot at ACC Indoors.
Cravont Charleston continued his success in the 60m dash with a 6.69 mark, his best time of the indoor season thus far. Charleston, who placed third, has earned a podium finish in the event at all four meets that he has competed in during his sophomore campaign.
