Hidlay Earns ACC Wrestler of the Week for Third Time

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State redshirt freshman Hayden Hidlay was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestler of the Week after leading the sixth-ranked Wolfpack to a win over Duke in the 2018 ACC Dual opener for both teams. Hidlay has now been named ACC Wrestler of the Week a league-best three times this season.

Hidlay, from Lewiston, Pennsylvania, remained undefeated on the season in the 157-pound weight class, scoring a 10-5 decision over Duke's Mitch Finesilver. Hidlay is now ranked third nationally by InterMat, Flowrestling, and the NCAA Coaches. He improved to 15-0 on the season with the win over Finesilver, who is ranked 11th nationally.

Hidlay got the first takedown with a headlock just 24 seconds into the bout, and added a four-point near fall to jump out to a 6-0 lead in the first period.
