
NC State Has Succesful Third Day at TYR Pro Swim Series

Austin, Texas. – The #3/14 NC State swimming team continued to impress on the third day at the TYR Pro Swim Series as it claimed 14 top 10 finishes inside the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swim Center.
All races but the 400 freestyle and 200 mystery IM were swam in elimination style finals; the top eight raced in the first finals heat, the top four raced in the second and the top two raced in the third.
The 400 freestyle was a strong event for the Wolfpack with Anton Ipsen toucing the wall at 3:50.53 seconds to finish second while on the women's side Hannah Moore also took second in 4:14.16 seconds and Tamila Holub finished eighth in 4:16.47 seconds.
The 50 backstroke was also a highlight with Justin Ress advanced to the third finals heat and finished second with a mark of 25.04 while Hennessey Stuart finished eighth in the first finals heat with a time of 26.26. NC State also had success in the 50 freestyle as Ryan Held made it to the second finals heat and finished third in 22.54 and Giovanni Izzo took eighth in the first finals heat, posting a time of 23.22. In the 50 freestyle on the women's side, Ky-lee Perry touched the wall at 25.64 to finish fourth in the second finals heat.
The Wolfpack also posted some of the best times in the 50 butterfly as Held advanced to the second finals heat and finished third in 23.94 while James Bretscher finished eighth in 24.83 in the first finals heat. On the women's side Krista Duffield made it to the first finals heat and finished eighth in 27.16.
Jacob Molacek also qualified for the first finals heat of the 50 breaststroke and produced the seventh-fastest time, 28.73
Andreas Vazaios and Julia Poole also competed in the 200 mystery IM; Vazaios was the third-place finisher on the men's side in 2:04.22 seconds while Poole was fifth on the women's side in a time of 2:22.32 seconds.

The Wolfpack begin the final day of the TYR Pro Swim Series tomorrow morning at 9:00 A.M. with timed finals of both the men's and women's 1500 freestyle.
