BAYAMON, P.R. – The NC State volleyball team opened strong, but could not hold off a late comeback as the Auburn Tigers rallied for a 3-2 (25-14, 22-25, 25-15, 24-26, 9-15) victory Sunday evening inside the Coliseo Ruben Rodriguez.

One day after defeating 16th-ranked UNC-Chapel Hill, the Auburn Tigers (5-1) found a way to take down the Wolfpack after trailing 2-1 in the match. Despite the loss, NC State (0-5) tallied more kills, assists and digs than Auburn but came up short in the final result.

Overall thoughts…
"Tonight was tough," said second-year head coach Linda Hampton-Keith. "I thought our team did everything we asked of them and I'm proud of them for that. Where we need to be better is executing when we get pressured. I thought Auburn did a great job in set five pressuring us and we didn't respond well so that's where we will work to be better."
