Wolfpack Set To Open Fall Play At Duke James Bonk Invite

2017 Duke James Bonk Invite Draw
RALEIGH – The NC State men's tennis team begins its fall season this weekend at the Duke James Bonk Invite at the Cary Tennis Park. Georgiy Malyshev, Igor Saveljic, Ivan Saveljic, and Michael Ogden are all set to open their junior campaigns at the tournament on Friday.
The tournament, hosted by Duke, welcomes ACC players from NC State, Louisville, North Carolina, and Wake Forest, as well as non-conference individuals from VCU, North Florida, Charlotte, Elon, Princeton, Auburn, and Gardner-Webb.
FORMAT:
Players have been divided into three singles draws, each one featuring 16 individuals. There are also three doubles draws with eight pairs in each draw. Players that do not advance past the first round will have the opportunity to play in a consolation bracket.
MATCHUPS:
Ivan will face Maximilian Scholl of George Washington in the opening round of the A1 singles draw. Igor is matched up against Louisville's Clement Filho in the A2 singles bracket. Malyshev joins Igor in the A2 singles draw. He is set to play two seed Catalin Mateas of Duke, who he faced in the first round of the tournament in 2016. In the B singles bracket, Ogden is the two seed and will face Jacob Bicknell of Elon.
In doubles, Ogden and Malyshev will pair up as the two seed in the A1 doubles draw to play against Arvid Noren and Javier Amantegui of VCU. Igor and Ivan take on Louisville juniors Brandon Lancaster and George Hedley in the A2 bracket.
FRIDAY'S SCHEDULE:
Doubles play begins for both tandems at 9 a.m. Friday morning, and the singles matches are set to begin in the afternoon not before 1:30 p.m.
