Finley Streaking Into Record Books

RALEIGH, N.C. - Redshirt junior quarterback Ryan Finley has been on FIREÂ thus far in 2017. After setting a school record with 45 completions and throwing for 415 yards in the season opener, he came back to complete 29 of 36 attempts for 341 yards in the win over Marshall. Â
Finley is the first Wolfpack QB since Philip Rivers (2003) to open the season with back-to-back 300-yard passing games. Not a bad stat as several pretty good QBs (Russell Wilson - Seattle Seahawks; Mike Glennon - Chicago Bears; Jacoby Brissett - Indianapolis Colts) have come through NC State since that time!
Finley hasn't only been prolific, he's been accurate. His .740 completion mark this season leads the ACC and ranks 14th in the FBS and he now posts a .631 mark for his career at NC State - the second-best mark in school history. He's in pretty good company, as only Rivers posted a better mark for his career at .636.
Even more impressive, Finley has now attempted 165 straight passes without an interception - dating back to the third quarter of the Miami game on Nov. 19, 2016. That streak is the second-longest active streak in the FBS...

Last season, Finley threw 139 consecutive passes to open the season without throwing an interception. That was the longest for any first-time Wolfpack starter before throwing his first pick.
