Held Qualifies for Final of 50 Freestyle on Day Six of WUGS

TAIPEI, Taiwan – Approaching the final day of the World University Games, Ryan Held positioned himself to earn another medal, as he qualified for the final of 50-meter free style on Friday at the National Taiwan Sports University.

Held's heat time of 22.16 was the second fastest time overall in all heats. He then competed in the semifinal later in the day, where he finished the race in 22.24, advanced to the final and earned the No. 7 seed.

Also competing from NC State was Hannah Moore, having qualified for the 800 freestyle final yesterday. She finished seventh with a time of 8:36.64 seconds.
