AP Preseason Team
Â
RALEIGH, N.C. - The Associated Press has announced its 2017 Annual Preseason All-America team, and the Wolfpack has two players on that prestigious list. DE Bradley Chubb is a first-team choice, while H-back Jaylen Samuels was named to the second-team as an all-purpose player.
Chubb ranked fourth in the FBS in tackles for loss last season. His 22 TFLs in 2016 was the second-best mark in school history, trailing only No. 1 NFL draft pick Mario Williams. He was named a second-team preseason All-America choice by Athlon and Sports Illustrated and has been named to the preseason watch lists for the Bednarik, Nagurski and Hendrick Awards.
Â
Samuels was the Pack's leading receiver (55 catches) and third-leading rusher last season. He ranks sixth in school history with 31 touchdowns – 15 receiving and 16 rushing. A first-team preseason All-American according to Athlon and Sports Illustrated, Samuels is on the preseason watch lists for the Maxwell and Hornung Awards.
Â
The Wolfpack kicks off its 2017 campaign in the Belk College Kickoff game in Charlotte against South Carolina on September 2. Tickets for that contest, as well as season tickets, are available HERE.
