Matchup Between Former Wolfpack Quarterbacks Highlights First Week of Preseason
RALEIGH – Several #PackPros were involved in week one of the preseason, highlighted by a matchup between NC State superstar quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Philip Rivers on Sunday night, as the Seattle Seahawks battled the Los Angeles Chargers.
Both Wilson and Rivers saw limited action, but were effective and efficient during their time on the field. Rivers went 5/6 for 56 yards and one touchdown, while Wilson went 3/4 for 41 yards.
Another former NC State quarterback, Jacoby Brissett of the New England Patriots, also had an impressive showing as he went 8/13, throwing for 88 yards against the Jacksonville Jaguars. In that game, Audie Cole saw action for the Jaguars, recording one tackle and three assists.
Rookie running back Matt Dayes also showed positive signs for the Cleveland Browns, rushing for one touchdown and nine yards in his preseason debut against the New Orleans Saints.
On defense, Green Bay Packers rookie safety Josh Jones finished with four tackles against the Philadelphia Eagles, and Juston Burris recorded two tackles for the New York Jets in their matchup with the Tennessee Titans.
T.Y. McGill saw game time for the Indianapolis Colts, ending their game against the Detroit Lions with one tackle and one assist.
Also of note is that Jacksonville Jaguars signed former Wolfpack tight end David Grinnage this morning.
With the second week of the preseason approaching, stay tuned to see which #PackPros will be in action!

This is what #Packers had in mind when they drafted Josh Jones to play sub LB. On 3rd & 4, looks like RB has first down. Watch Jones close. pic.twitter.com/a8p7ZTScEj
