FORT WORTH, Texas – After Amanda Rebol and Anna Rogers secured singles wins earlier this morning, Rebol teamed with Adriana Reami and Rogers teamed with Bianca Moldovan, as both duos earned wins in doubles competition at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Summer National Championships at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.
Â
Playing as the No. 6 seed, Rogers and Moldovan made quick work of Tatiana Nikolaeva and Anzhelika Shapovalova, downing them 8-2.
Â
Â
Â
Adriana Reami and Amanda Rebol, playing at the No. 17 seed, defeated the higher-seeded No. 16 duo of Asuka Kawai and Victoria Robertson 8-6.
Â
Rogers was thrilled to take the court with her teammates once again, and the group's joy and enthusiasm to be reunited after much time apart over the summer was evident.
Â
"Today was a successful first day for the Wolfpack" she said. "The conditions are definitely tough out there, but we pushed through. All of the matches we played in today were against good players, and they will only get better from this point. I believe we're all ready to compete hard tomorrow, and for the rest of the tournament. Go Pack!"
