Ipsen Shines at World Championships

BUDAPEST, Hungary – Representing Denmark, rising senior Anton Ipsen made NC State's presence felt at the FINA World Championships on Tuesday, finishing 12th overall in the 800-meter freestyle while earning a new personal best and breaking the program record in the process.
Ipsen's time of 7:53.37 shaved two seconds off his previous best, and secured his spot among the world's elite 800 meter swimmers.
"We are proud of Anton's performance today, hitting a personal best and top-12 finish is a great moment for him" proclaimed head coach Braden Holloway. "This sets him up well for the mile later this week."
Up Next for the Wolfpack
On June 26, Andreas Vazaios will compete in the 200 individual medley for Greece, while Simonas Bilis represents Lithuania in the 100 freestyle. Lotta Nevalainen will also be in action, as part of Finland's 400 medley mixed relay team.
