With the start of the 2017 NC State Volleyball season rapidly approaching, GoPack.com will be catching up with each member of the team to see how she is spending her summer and how excited she is to start the season. Periodically a Q and A will be posted to the website titled 'Serve and Pass', giving fans an inside look at each player on the squad.

Describe the trip to Italy.
"The trip to Italy was awesome. We really got a chance to bond as a team and the fact that we were able to bring the freshmen was really cool. It was nice to get out of our comfort zones and experience a new culture and play teams that we've never seen before. It was a really good growing experience for everyone."
What was the best part of the trip?
"I really loved the day we went to Lake Como. I took the lift to the top of the mountain and we took maybe a 15-minute hike from there and when we got to the top, the view was absolutely incredible."
Had you ever been to Italy before?
"No, it was my first time but hopefully not my last."
How excited were you when you found out that you would be going to Italy the summer before your senior season?
"It was really exciting. We found out that we were going on an international trip last year on senior night, but it didn't really hit me that it was going to be the summer before my senior season until maybe a week before we left. It was awesome and hopefully it's the start of a really good year."
What did you do on the flight to pass the time?
"On the way there, I tried to fall asleep as quick as possible and on the way back I think I watched maybe six different movies. I sat with Nailah [Gordon] on the way there and Kaitlyn [Kearney] on the way back, so we had a lot of fun."
Other than the Italy trip, have you taken any other vacations or do you have any planned?
"I visited some family in San Diego and got to hang out on the beach a little. After summer session II is over, I'm going back home to Texas for a few days before we report to fall camp."
How does it feel to be a senior?
"It's crazy. I still don't feel like a senior, but it's awesome. It's so exciting seeing all the freshmen come in and I'm so excited to share some advice with them to try and help them out as much as I can."
How excited are you to start your senior season?
"I'm super excited. It's going to be a great season. Linda and our new coaches have turned the program around and to have a second year to feel more comfortable in the system will be huge."
What are your goals for the team and individually this season?
"Our goal from day one as a team has been to make the NCAA Tournament this season and it's something that we work towards every day. Individually, I'm just trying to do as much as I can in whatever my role is to help the team achieve our goal."
Was there anything in particular that you wanted to work on this summer for the season?
"With our trip to Italy, we've worked on controlling what you can control and taking care of the challenge in front of you. We've all been spending a lot of time with Gabe [Button], our strength and conditioning coach, to get in the best shape we've ever been."
What do you want to do after graduation? When are you graduating?
"I graduate this December following the season. I'm in information technology (IT), so I'm looking at doing some consulting work or work for some type of technology job."
