Full Schedule | Season Tickets | Single-Match Tickets
RALEIGH, N.C. – Highlighted by 12 matches against 2016 NCAA Tournament teams, NC State volleyball head coach Linda Hampton-Keith announced the program's 2017 schedule on Tuesday. The second-year coach has put together a slate that features 16 matches versus teams that finished last season among the top 100 of the NCAA RPI.
Â
The Wolfpack's schedule is also headlined by matchups with six teams that won their respective conference championships in 2016. Eight of NC State's 11 non-conference matchups are against teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament last season.
Â
Additionally, five teams on the Pack's schedule were ranked among the top 25 of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) final poll.
Â
The Wolfpack will kick off the year with its annual red and white intrasquad scrimmage on Aug. 19 at 1 p.m. inside Reynolds Coliseum.
NC State officially opens the season at home on Aug. 25 with a tough matchup against national powerhouse Kansas, a team that was ranked as high as No. 4 in the AVCA poll during the season and advanced to the NCAA Semifinals (Final Four) in 2015. Missouri State will also join the teams on opening weekend, as the Bears claimed the Missouri Valley Conference title a season ago and logged 26 wins.
Â
The Wolfpack will play the Bears in its first game of the day on Aug. 26 before concluding the first weekend of play with a rematch against the Jayhawks. NCSU's meeting with Missouri State will be the first between the teams in program history.
Â
NC State will travel to San Juan, Puerto Rico, for the ACC-SEC Challenge and face Florida on Sept. 2 and Auburn on Sept. 3. The following weekend, the Pack will make the short trip to High Point for matchups with UNCW and the host Panthers on Sept. 9.
Â
LIU Brooklyn heads to Raleigh for a 2 p.m. tilt on Sept. 10 in Reynolds Coliseum.
Â
The Wolfpack travels to Michigan for its final non-conference weekend of the season and faces a tough slate of opponents, as Cincinnati and the host Wolverines advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2016. NC State will play Cincinnati in its first match of the event on Friday, Sept. 15 before returning to the court later that day to take on Michigan.
Â
A matchup with Milwaukee will conclude the tournament for the Pack on Sept. 16, in the first meeting between the programs.
Â
For the second consecutive season, NC State will open ACC play against UNC-Chapel Hill as the Tar Heels visit Reynolds Coliseum on Sept. 22. Notre Dame will head to Raleigh that week on Sunday, Sept. 24.
Â
Road trips to Georgia Tech (Sept. 29) and Clemson (Oct. 1) precede a return to Raleigh for a four-match home stretch. NC State will host Wake Forest on Oct. 6, Duke on Oct. 8, Virginia on Oct. 13 and conclude the home stand against Virginia Tech on Oct. 15.
Â
Four consecutive road matches immediately follow with the Wolfpack heading to nearby Chapel Hill Oct. 18, Pittsburgh on Oct. 22, Miami on Oct. 27 and Florida State (Oct. 29).
Â
The Wolfpack will have the luxury of playing its first four matches in the month of November at home, as Syracuse (Nov. 3), Boston College (Nov. 5), Clemson (Nov. 9) and Georgia Tech (Nov. 11) make trips to Reynolds Coliseum.
Â
In contrast, NCSU will play its final four regular-season contests on the road as the squad visits Louisville on Nov. 17 and Notre Dame on Nov. 19. The Pack travels to Duke on Nov. 22 and concludes the regular season at Wake Forest on Nov. 24.
