Parents, have you ever wondered what it's like for your child to suit up on the football field? Do you wonder if it's safe for your child to play tackle football?
Â
NC State, the Carolina Panthers and USA Football are teaming up to answer your questions.
Â
On Wednesday, June 21 from 6-8 p.m., NC State, in partnership with the Carolina Panthers and USA Football, will host a free Parents' Clinic presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina. The event will be held at the Wendell H. Murphy football center.
Â
The clinic will help provide parents whose children are interested in playing tackle football with the latest information about the safety of the game.
The NC State athletic training staff will discuss concussion recognition and a parent's role, while also covering hydration, prevention of heat-related illness and nutrition. USA Football Master Trainers will be on hand to educate parents on proper helmet and shoulder pad fitting, which will take place in the Wolfpack football team meeting room.
Â
In the second hour, the master trainers, with help from a few Wolfpack football players, will provide live demonstrations of proper shoulder tackling techniques on the Wolfpack's playing field in Carter-Finley Stadium.
Â
Participants will receive a free event t-shirt and snacks and water will be provided.
Space is limited and registration is required. To register, click here.
