No. 16 NC State to Host No. 3 North Carolina

RALEIGH—The No. 16 NC State women's tennis team is set to host No. 3 North Carolina on Tuesday. The match will be held at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center and will kick off at 3 p.m. The Wolfpack holds a 8-3 season record while the Tar Heels will enter the match with an 11-1 record.
Last Time Out
The dual will mark the team's second ACC matchup of the season. Last week, the Wolfpack fell to No. 17 Duke at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center, 5-2. During the match, NC State earned the doubles point before dropping next three singles matches. Amanda Rebol earned a 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 win over the Blue Devil's Rebecca Smaller to keep the team in the match, but NC State ultimately lost, 5-2, marking its first loss in five matches.
Scouting North Carolina
The Tar Heels have five ranked singles players on the Oracle/ITA poll, including No. 3 Hayley Carter and No. 4 Sara Daavettila, both of whom are undefeated this season with 9-0 records. Jessie Aney is also ranked among the top 20, taking the No. 19 rank. Alexa Graham and Makenna Jones round out North Carolina's ranked singles players, coming in at No. 40 and No. 70, respectively.
In doubles, the Tar Heels hold the No. 3 ranked duo with Hayley Carter and Jessie Aney, who own a 2-0 ledger. Also appearing on the doubles rankings is the team of Carter and Daavettila, currently ranked No. 51 this season with a 5-0 record.
In the overall series, North Carolina leads, 45-3.
