Women's Tennis Earns Highest Rank in Program History

TEMPE, Ariz.–The NC State women's tennis team jumped into the rankings for the first time this season, landing at No. 16, as announced by Oracle and the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Tuesday afternoon. The ranking marks the highest in program history.

The Wolfpack holds a season record of 8-2, falling only to Pepperdine, who held the No. 3 rank at the time of the match, and No. 14 Kansas. NC State has won its five most recent matches.
In singles, Martina Frantova remains in the rankings, moving up one place to No. 30. The senior is currently on a seven match win-streak, and owns a 7-1 season record, earning her only loss in the season-opener after falling to Pepperdine's No. 6 Luisa Stefani, 6-3, 6-4.
NC State's tandem of Frantova and Anna Rogers entered the doubles rankings for the first time this season, settling at No. 22. The duo holds a perfect 5-0 record and has played at the top doubles position at each match.
On Wednesday, the Wolfpack will open ACC duals against No. 17 Duke, who holds a 4-3 season record. The match up will mark the 53rd meeting between the two programs.
