Quotes from the Wolfpack
Head coach Wes Moore: "Obviously it was a very tough day. Very disheartening for a lot of reasons. Kay Yow and the Play4Kay game is really important to this university, this campus, and to this program, so it's very disappointing (to lose) from that standpoint. Also, the ramifications it has on the ACC standings. It's a tough loss. You've got to give Wake Forest and Coach Hoover a lot of credit. They really came in here and took it to us. They were the aggressors; they got to the rim and the free throw line, and as always, they did a really good job on the offensive boards.
Â
"We talk all the time as a team about being able to win on days you don't shoot well. Obviously we really struggled from the three point line today. Give Wake some credit for defending that, but we've got to do a better job on the defensive end and on the boards. I thought we'd done a pretty good job (defensively) all season long, but (over) the last couple of games we've seen some slippage: Boston College in the first half, and then today, you can't give up 89 points and expect to have a chance to win. We have to reflect on this, learn from this, and move on to the next one."
Â
NC State closes the home portion of the 2016-17 regular season Thursday evening against UNC-Chapel Hill. The Wolfpack's Senior Night will tip off at 7 p.m. from Kay Yow Court inside Reynolds Coliseum. The ACC's Regional Sports Network will provide live coverage with a full list of television partners here.
