Chubb Named One of Five Finalists for Hendricks

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State senior Bradley Chubb has been named one of five finalists for the 2017 Hendricks Award, which honors the nation's top defensive end annually.

The 2017 ACC Defensive Player of the Year, Chubb is second in FBS play with 25 tackles for loss, fourth among FBS defensive linemen with 73 tackles and eighth in sacks (10). Chubb is a finalist for the Nagurski and Bednarik awards and a 2017 Walter Camp and FWAA All-American. He has been the ironman of the Wolfpack defense this season, playing 502 of 574 possible snaps. He became NC State's career leader in sacks and tackles for loss, surpassing Wolfpack legend Mario Williams. Known for his work ethic, Chubb began his career as a lightly recruited, 225-lb freshman.

Other finalists are: Nick Bosa of Ohio State, Clelin Ferrell of Clemson, Marcus Martin of Slippery Rock and Sutton Smith of Northern Illinois.
