Hines Named One of Four Finalists for Paul Hornung Award

RALEIGH, N.C. - Junior running back Nyheim Hines has been named one of four finalists for the Paul Hornung Award, presented by Texas Roadhouse to the most versatile player in major college football. Hines joins Penn State's Saquon Barkley, Iowa State's Joel Lanning and Washington's Dante Pettes as the finalists chosen by a 17-member selection committee.

The announcement was made today by the Louisville Sports Commission, owners and operators of the Award, along with football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung. The 2017 Paul Hornung Award winner will be chosen from among the finalists and announced Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017.

Hines has made a huge impact in a variety of ways for NC State in 2017. He's the Wolfpack's leading rusher with 688 yards and 5.5 yards per carry average, despite being limited in the last two games with an ankle injury. He's one of the national leaders in punt return average with an 18.5 ypr mark, and also returns kicks. As a gunner on punts, he's downed two inside the opponent's five yardline.
