KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Sophomore Tziarra King of the NC State women's soccer team continues to garner more accolades thanks to a stellar 2017 season, as she was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-East Region First Team on Monday night.
Â
This is the second all-region honor of her career, as she started all 22 matches during the Wolfpack's historic season and led the team in goals (17) and points (40). She is the only player in program history to earn multiple all-region honors from the association.
Â
The Sicklerville, N.J., native currently ranks fourth and fifth in goals and points, respectively, among the NCAA. She also ranks sixth in the program's all-time record book for most goals in a single season and seventh for most points in a single season.
Â
In addition to her all-region selection King collected All-ACC First Team honors after finishing second in the conference in goals and points, and was named to the ACC All-Tournament Team after recording her first career hat trick in the team's ACC Championship quarterfinal win over Notre Dame.
Â
She played a vital role in the team's third-place finish in the ACC regular season standings and first ACC semifinal appearance since 1995. King has also contributed to the program's first back-to-back ACC Championship berths since 2003-'04 and NCAA Tournament appearances since 1995-'96.
