@PackWrestle Concludes Weekend at Journeymen Classic

TROY, N.Y. – After going 3-0 in duals yesterday to open the 2017-18 season, No. 8 NC State returned to action on Sunday and competed in the Journeymen Classic – a pod-style tournament in Troy, N.Y.
The majority of the Pack's starters did not compete today after the three dual wins yesterday.

125: So. Tommy Cox – 2-0
133: R-So. Will Clark – 1-2
133: R-Jr. Jamel Morris – 3-0
133: R-Fr. Tariq Wilson – 2-1
149: R-Jr. Sam Melikian – 0-3
149: #18 R-Jr. Jamal Morris – 2-1
149: R-Sr. Robbie Rizzolino – 1-2
197: R-So. Tyler Johnson – 1-2
285: Sr. Michael Boykin – 1-2
285: R-Jr. Malik McDonald – 2-1
At 125, Cox went a perfect 2-0 as both wins were by technical fall; 15-0 then 16-1.
At 133, NC State advanced a pair to the first place bout in their pod, as Morris defeated Wilson 1-0. Morris went a perfect 3-0 on the day, scoring a pin, and 16-0 tech fall win and the 1-0 win to claim first. Wilson was 2-0 until that meeting, scoring an 8-3 decision and also a pin.
At 149, Morris downed Rizzolino 3-1 in the third place match in their pod. Also at 285, McDonald won 4-3 in extra time against teammate Boykin to also finish third in their pod.
Up Next: NC State will be in home action next weekend wit a pair of events. The Wolfpack will host the Wolfpack Duals on Saturday in Reynolds Coliseum. NC State will face UNC Pembroke (4 p.m.), Utah Valley (5:30 p.m.), and Reinhardt (7 p.m.). Then on Sunday, NC State will host the Wolfpack Open in Carmichael Gymnasium.
