Elly Henes was named the ACC Women's Performer of the Week, while Dominique Clairmonte and Joe Bistritz swept Freshman of the Week honors.
RALEIGH, N.C. -- The NC State cross country program has claimed three weekly honors from the ACC, the conference office announced Wednesday afternoon.
Wolfpack sophomore Elly Henes was named the ACC Women's Performer of the Week, while redshirt-freshman Dominique Clairmonte earned Freshman of the Week honors. On the men's side, redshirt-freshman Joe Bistritz was selected as the ACC Men's Freshman of the Week.
Henes was the Pack's top finisher for the first time in her career last week at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational. The Cary, N.C. native clocked a personal-best 5K time of 16:42.9 to place 13th in a field that featured seven nationally ranked teams. The Wolfpack finished third overall as a team.
Clairmonte was the third scorer for NC State at the Joe Piane Invite, posting a 5K PR of 16:48.3 as she placed 19th. A native of Lexington, Ohio, she was the fourth freshman to cross the line at Notre Dame.
Bistritz made his way into NC State's top five for the second-consecutive meet as he was the Wolfpack's fourth finisher at Notre Dame. He placed 52nd individually with a time of 24:39.1 over the five-mile course.
The Wolfpack cross country programs have now earned four weekly honors on the season, as Clairmonte was also named ACC Freshman of the Week on Sept. 20. This is the first career weekly honor for Bistritz and the second for Henes, who was named ACC Freshman of the Week exactly one year ago on Oct. 4, 2016.
The Pack continues competition next week, as NC State will be represented at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational and the ECU Pirate Invitational on Friday, Oct. 13. For the most up-to-date information on NC State cross country, follow @PackXC on Twitter.
