Football Moves Up in Both National Polls

RALEIGH, N.C. – With six straight wins and a 4-0 start in ACC play, NC State has moved up in both national polls this week after its 35-17 win at Pitt. Coming in ranked No. 20 in both polls last week, the Wolfpack moved up to No. 16 in the Associated Press poll and No. 17 in the coaches poll this week.

NC State is one of only seven teams nationally that has a current winning streak of at least six games during this season.

The Wolfpack has obtained its highest ranking since being No. 14 in the second poll of the 2003 season. NC State is ranked for three straight weeks during the regular season (not including preseason) for the first time since 2002.

NC State gained bowl eligibility with its sixth win of the season yesterday, the quickest NC State has become bowl eligible since a 6-0 start to the 2002 campaign.

The Pack sits atop the Atlantic Division standings at a perfect 4-0 halfway through the ACC season.

The Wolfpack will have a bye week this weekend, and return to action at #16 Notre Dame on Oct. 28.
