Wolfpack Falls to No. 3 Pepperdine on the Road

MALIBU, Calif.- The Wolfpack was defeated 4-0 by No. 3 Pepperdine on Sunday in the championship match of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend in Malibu, Calif. The loss is NC State's first this season, moving its overall record to 3-1.
Pepperdine took an early lead, winning No. 2 and 3 doubles. The Wave duo of Ashley Lahey and Dzina Milovanovic fired off a 6-0 win to beat the Wolfpack's Amanda Rebol and Tayla Stenta. The doubles point was decided when No. 8 Jean Runglerdkriangkrai and Luisa Stefani took down Bianca Moldovan and Claudia Wiktorin, 6-2.
In singles, Pepperdine claimed its second point of the match when No. 21 Lahey earned a 6-2, 6-0 win over Wiktorin. In No. 3 singles, freshman Adriana Reami fell to No. 22 Mayar Sherif, 2-6, 0-6. The shutout was clinched in No. 1 singles as No. 8 Luisa Stefani beat No. 36 Frantova, 6-3, 6-4.

The Wolfpack will return home for a doubleheader on Friday, February 3. NC State will take on Kansas at noon and East Carolina at 5:30 P.M. at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.
