Women's Cross Country Selected As ACC Preseason Favorite

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The NC State women's cross country team has been selected as the 2016 favorite in the Atlantic Coast Conference Coaches' Preseason Poll, as released by the league office this week.
The men's team was picked third overall behind 2015 NCAA champion Syracuse, who received the top nod, while Virginia is listed at No. 2.
Both Wolfpack teams finished second at last year's conference championships.
The ACC is well represented in the national polls as well. On the women's side, NC State will enter the season as the No. 5, followed by No. 14 Notre Dame, No. 15 Syracuse and No. 16 Virginia. The NC State men received the 30th spot in its respective poll. Other ACC appearances on the men's side came from No. 1 Syracuse, No. 15 Virginia and No. 24 Louisville.
The Wolfpack will host the adidas XC Challenge on Friday, September 16 to kick off its regular season, and will additionally host this year's ACC Championships October 28th in Cary, N.C at the WakeMed Soccer Park.
