Q: What drew you to NC State from Florida?
A: Really just the opportunity out here. Coach Doeren came in and basically talked to me about how there's an opportunity for everyone to come out here and play and make an immediate impact.
Q: You underwent micro-fracture surgery on your knee, how hard was it to come back from that injury?
A: I'm just out here working every day. The first year was pretty tough, but this year… it's just all coming together right now so we got to keep on working.
Q: You earned the team's Iron Wolf Award for the player who makes the greatest comeback from injury last season. What did you do for rehab to return for this season?
A: I've been in there ever day in the cold tub and hot tub, doing extra jump rope, doing extra stretching, extra treatment, rehab, all that good stuff to make sure my knee has been stronger than it's ever been. And I have continued to work on foot quickness as well.
Q: How is your health going into your final season? Any restrictions?
A: Nope. I'm healthy. Ready to go.
Q: As a true freshman, you were named a second-team All-American, how big of an honor was that?
A: That was so long ago I can't even remember. I'm just focused on right now and trying to get better."
Q: How much do you enjoy playing for Coach Nielsen?
A: We just come out here and work every day. That's the biggest thing playing with him. You have to come out here every day and want to work.
Q: What must the defensive line do this season to help the defense?
A: Number one is we have to continue to work on our run fundamentals as well as our pass fundamentals. We have to continue to get better every day. We just have to come out here every day and get better as an entire defensive unit.
Q: What are your plans after school with your Park, Rec and Tourism Management major?
A: I probably want to go back and coach. That would definitely be something I want to look into, maybe at the high school level. Or look into a GA position at the college level.
