WATCH: Band of Brothers: Life on the NC State OL (Pt. 1)
RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State was in full pads for the second straight day on Saturday morning, going through pratcie and some situational scrimmage time on the turf practice field Saturday morning.
Transcript of head coach Dave Doeren's postpractice comments on Saturday:
On Saturday's practice (which included some situational scrimmage time)
I thought the guys practiced hard.  In the short yardage period, the defense definitely had their way with the offense. At the end, we moved the ball, the guys fought through and we had some long drives – some nine-play drives. We're testing their conditioning a little bit. It was the sixth straight day and the second day in pads and it was a hot day in pads so guys had to fight through it.
On Eurndraus Bryant and the young defensive linemen
He had a great practice. He was unblockable in the short yardage period. He was in the backfield the whole time. They are playing at a high level. Coach Nielsen has them playing great technique and their standard is high. Bradley [Chubb] and BJ [Hill] bring that out in them so now they all have to play that way if they want playing time. There's good competition in the room.
On older guys helping younger guys
We're trying to encourage each other as much as we can and being positive as we do it. Our guys really respond to that, especially if it's a teammate. That's what families do – they pick each other up.
On where the team is after Week 1
On defense, we're kinda where I thought we'd be with all the guys we had back … the development on the d-line. Offensively our o-line is getting better, we've just got to get better at executing day in and day out and I think that will come with more and more reps.
On having tomorrow off
From now until Monday we won't be on the field so they'll have a chance to sit back and look at what they've done and recoup and refresh their legs. It will be good for them mentally and physically.
On Meet the Pack Day (scheduled for tomorrow from 5-7 p.m.)
Any time they're around the fans it's envigorating just to feel the spirit of our fan base. It kinda brings back how much people care about what they're doing and the work they're putting in. I think it's good for them.

After six straight days of practice, the Wolfpack will take a break from the practice fields and host the annual Meet the Pack Day tomorrow from 5-7 p.m.
