Dayes Named to Doak Walker Award Watch List

RALEIGH, N.C. - Senior running back Matthew Dayes has added to his list of preseason honors, as he was named to the watch list for the 2016 Doak Walker Award today. The award is presented annually to the nation's top college running back.

Dayes, NC State's career leader in rushing yards per carry with a 5.6 mark, ranks 15th in school history with 1,690 career rushing yards. He ranks fifth in school history in career rushing touchdowns and was named to the preseason watch list for the Maxwell Award last week.

Dayes' 30 total career touchdowns are the sixth-best mark ever for a Wolfpack player and he ranks 12th in career points scored (182).
