Wolfpack Lands Three Players in Final ITA Rankings

SKILLMAN, N.J. – The NC State men's tennis team concluded the year ranked No. 46 and posted three singles players and a doubles team in the final ITA rankings of the 2015-16 season.
NCAA singles qualifier Simon Norneius leads the group at No. 62. Junior Nick Horton is ranked No. 64 and Thomas Weigel rounds out the group at No. 107. Norenius and Weigel conclude the season ranked No. 63 in doubles play.
The three ranked individuals were crucial members of the team during the season, playing at singles positions one-three. The three also served as team captains and earned a combined 69 singles and 48 doubles matches. Additionally, the three combined for eight wins over nationally ranked opponents.
Norenius led the team with 25 singles wins, while Horton and Weigel each won 22 singles matches.
The Wolfpack joins elite company as one of only 14 teams in the nation to feature at least three ranked singles players in the final poll of the season. This is also the second year in a row the Pack has concluded the season with three ranked players.
