New England Patriots Select both Thuney and Brissett in Third Round

RALEIGH, N.C. - In a span of 14 draft picks in the third round Friday night, the New England Patriots selected a pair of former Wolfpack teammates - OL Joe Thuney and QB Jacoby Brissett.
Thuney was the first Pack player drafted in the 2016 NFL Draft as the Patriots used the 78th selection to draft the 2015 All-American. New England then found their next pick also from NC State, as Brissett was the 91st selection.
Thuney was the first offensive lineman from the ACC drafted in 2016. The last time NC State had an offensive lineman go in the first three rounds was Chris Colmer in 2005. Brissett was the fourth QB selected in the draft, the first from the ACC.
