12 earned individual invites and four will compete on relays
INDIANAPOLIS- The NC State swimming and diving team will have 16 swimmers represent the Wolfpack at the 2016 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championship, as announced by the NCAA office Wednesday morning.
Hosted by Georgia Tech inside the McAuley Aquatic Center March 23-26, this marks the highest number of swimmers to receive invitations since Braden Holloway and his staff took over in 2011.
Twelve men from the program earned invites for individual events and an additional four will travel with the Pack to Atlanta to compete on qualifying relay teams. This gives the team a total of 16 to compete at the men's championship.
Including 11 individual events the Pack earned bids in all five relays, holding the top time in the country in four.
Last week 13 women from the Pack were selected to compete in Atlanta and Rachel Mumma earned a bid in the one-meter dive on Monday at the Zone Diving Championship. NC State will send a total of 30 to compete at the NCAAs, which is the highest cumulative number sent by the current coaching staff.
