Doeren Honored at Alma Mater

RALEIGH, N.C. - Wolfpack head coach Dave Doeren was honored by his alma mater, Drake University, at a ceremony in Des Moines, Iowa, today. The former Bulldog tight end earned the "Double D" Award in recognition of his athletic accomplishments at Drake and his continued success in his career and in his community.
Doeren, who is entering his fourth season at the helm of the Wolfpack football program, earned a bachelor's degree in pre-med/biology and later a master's degree from Drake in 1999. He was a four-year letter winner in football from 1990 through 1993 and earned second team Academic All-America honors in 1993.
Doeren began his collegiate coaching career at Drake in 1995 and helped lead the Bulldogs to their first Pioneer Football League championship. He was promoted to the Bulldogs' defensive coordinator in 1997 and then spent the following two seasons at USC.
