
NC State Completes Day One Of CCI With Seven Top-Three Finishes

The Wolfpack posted two wins on the day
CHAPEL HILL, N.C.- Highlighted by seven individual top-three finishes including two wins, the NC State swimming and diving team completed its first day of competition at the Carolina College Invitational Friday evening, hosted by UNC-Chapel Hill inside Koury Natatorium.Â
The three-day meet serves as an opportunity for Wolfpack swimmers to race in a competitive environment as the ACC and NCAA Championships approach. No team scores will be kept throughout the weekend.Â
Freestyle
Allie Fogleman and Anna Jahns both advanced to the 'A' final of the women's 500 freestyle, as Fogleman placed second with a time of 4:50.49 while Jahns posted a mark of 4:52.16 to finish third in the overall standings.Â
In the men's 500 free, Trey Poff won the event after stopping the clock at 4:24.90, which stands as an NCAA 'B' standard time. Additionally, Mason Revis finished third with a time of 4:27.98.Â
Mariah Hamil was NC State's top finisher in the women's 50 free, as she finished third with a time of 23.36. Additionally, Emmie Barnhill and Caroline Estep finished seventh and eighth in the race with times of 23.69 and 23.76, in respective order.
Justin Moore represented the Wolfpack in the men's 50 free as he finished fourth in the overall standings after posting a mark of 20.88.
Individual Medley
Geoffrey Carter won the men's 200 IM after stopping the clock at 1:48.93, while Quinlan Stuart finished second with a time of 1:49.81 and Parker Campbell posted a mark of 1:51.12 to finish fourth in the event.Â

NC State will continue competition at the Carolina College Invitational in Chapel Hill. Prelims will begin at 10 a.m. while finals are set for a 6 p.m. start. Live results will be available for both sessions.Â
