Clinkscales Named Director of Athletics at Indiana State

RALEIGH, N.C. - Sherard Clinkscales, a member of NC State Athletics' senior staff since 2011, has been named Director of Athletics at Indiana State, University President Dr. Daniel J. Bradley announced Sunday.

Clinkscales came to NC State in July 2011 as Associate Athletics Director and was promoted to his current role of Senior Associate Athletics Director for Student Services and Sport Administration in January 2012.

In his current role, he provides oversight to multiple administrative units and sports, including strength and conditioning, sports medicine, nutrition, housing, and student services. He also serves as the departmental liaison to the Academic Support Program for Student Athletes (ASPSA) and supervises baseball, wrestling, volleyball, and men and women's soccer programs.

A native of Indiana, Clinkscales is a graduate of Purdue University with a B.A. in history.

"Sherard is a professional whose first concern is the quality of the experience for student athletes, followed closely by a desire to engage alumni and fans in the life of the University and athletics department," said NC State Director of Athletics, Deborah Yow. "He is thrilled to return to his home state, ready to make a difference for Indiana State. We will miss his sizable contributions, but always knew he was destined to become an AD."
