@PackWrestle Ranked No. 2 in Final Coaches Poll

Final NWCA/USA Today Coaches' Poll
RALEIGH, N.C. - Fresh off a 21-17 win at then-#2 and undefeated Iowa Monday night, the NC State wrestling team finished its dual season with a 23-1 mark and was ranked #2 in the final NWCA/USA Today Coaches' Poll for 2015-16 which was released Tuesday.
NC State spent the final 10 Coaches' Polls ranked fourth or better, including eight straight polls at No. 3. Previously, the highest ranking at any point in a season for NC State was No. 7 in 1992.
On its resume, NC State went a combined 9-1 against ranked opponents this season, outscoring those teams 239-122. Among those ranked wins, the Pack was a perfect 3-0 against top-five teams - earning road wins at #4 Oklahoma State (19-15), last night at #2 Iowa (21-14), and at home on Senior Day vs. #5 Missouri (18-17).
The 23 wins were the most in a single season in school history, and led the NCAA this year.
NC State was also a perfect 15-0 in duals away from Raleigh, going 7-0 in try road duals and 8-0 at neutral sites. Among those seven road wins were four ranked opponents: #2 Iowa, #4 Oklahoma State, #11 Nebraska (19-15), and #16 Pittsburgh (28-6).
NC State also finished #2 according to FloWrestling, InterMat and WIN Magazine.
Up Next: The Wolfpack will next be in action at the 2016 Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestling Championship which will be hosted by the University of Virginia on Sunday, March 6. The one-day tournament, which will take place at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Va., will begin at 11 a.m.
