SKILLMAN, N.J. - The NC State men's tennis team has cracked the top-25 of ITA rankings, checking in at No. 25 in the latest poll from the organization. The Wolfpack holds a 10-3 record and also has two individuals listed in the singles rakings.
The jump is a five-spot improvement from last week's team rankings and is the highest of the season for the program. In addition to the team, Nick Horton leads the Pack in individual rankings at No. 72 and Simon Norenius is ranked No. 83.
Horton is 9-2 on the season, playing exclusively at the top-two spots in the line up. Norenius has also split time with Horton between the top lineup spots and is 10-1 on the season with a trio of wins over ranked competition.
Last week, NC State split its weekend matches, dropping a match at now-ranked No. 15 Northwestern on Friday before defeating Michigan State University on Sunday. This season, the Pack has taken down three ranked opponents.
NC State will face another test this week during a four-match home stand. The Pack will welcome UNC-Wilmington Thursday, No. 6 Texas Tech Friday, and a doubleheader against No. 55 ODU and UNC-Greensboro Sunday.
