Women’s Team and Three Individuals Named USTFCCCA All-Academic

NEW ORLEANS, The No. 5 NC State women's cross country team was named a 2015 All-Academic Team and Erika Kemp, Rachel Koon and Ryen Frazier were named USTFCCCA All-Academic Individuals, as announced by the organization's office Friday morning.

The women's team boasts a 3.279 team GPA, which qualified them for the award. All three individuals posted GPAs of at least 3.25. It is the eighth consecutive year that the program has earned an individual or team All-Academic award from USTFCCCA.
The team accolade adds to a banner year for the Wolfpack women as they extended an NCAA record to 29 total NCAA appearances and posted its highest team finish since 2001. In addition to the fifth-place finish at nationals, the team held a top-15 ranking for most of the year and finished second at the ACC Championships and NCAA Southeast Reegional.
Kemp, Koon and Frazier all scored for the Pack at the NCAA Southeast Regional and NCAA Championships. They earned All-ACC and All-Region honors during the season. This is Kemp's second time receiving the award and a career first for Koon and Frazier.
In total, there were 160 women and 90 men who were named USTFCCCA All-Academic. In order for a student-athlete to qualify for the honor, they must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and finished in the top-25 (or 10 percent) at regionals or as an All-American at the national meet.
The national academic awards come just a week after the program racked up on conference accolades.
