RALEIGH, N.C. - Four members of the 2016 Wolfpack football squad have been named to the 2016 All-ACC Football Team, as selected by the league's 14 head coaches. Offensive guard Tony Adams, defensive end Bradley Chubb and RB Matthew Dayes were second-team selections, while tight end Jaylen Samuels was named to the third-team.
Adams has started all 12 games at right guard for the Pack this season, while playing almost 97% of the team's offensive snaps. A preseason candidate for the Wuerffel Trophy, Adams has not allowed a sack in his third season as a starter. He was also named to the ACSMA's All-ACC second team.
Chubb is the national leader with 21.0 tackles for loss this season and only No. 1 NFL draft pick Mario Williams ever tallied more TFLs in a season for the Wolfpack. Chubb also ranks fifth in the ACC in sacks with 9.5, a mark that ranks 15th nationally. He was named the ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week for the Wolfpack's win over Notre Dame, when he tallied 3.5 tackles for loss, including three sacks.
Dayes ranks third in the ACC with 1,119 rushing yards entering the Pack's bowl game. He became the first Wolfpack player to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season since 2002. His eight 100+ yard rushing games in 2016 are the most for a Wolfpack player since Ted Brown had nine in 1977. He also leads the Pack with 10 rushing TDs and ranks fourth on the team with 31 receptions.
Samuels currently leads the Pack with 49 receptions on the season, and is tied for the team lead with 10 touchdowns - six rushing, four receiving.
