Julius Duchscherer Earns All-ACC Second Team Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Sophomore midfielder Julius Duchscherer of the NC State men's soccer team has earned All-ACC honors for the second straight season, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced Tuesday afternoon. The Hadamar, Germany, native has been named to the league's second team.
Following a breakout freshman season in 2015 which included All-ACC Freshman Team and All-ACC Academic Team honors, Duchscherer set the bar even higher during his sophomore year. The midfielder led NC State with nine goals (3rd in ACC) and contributed three assists for a team-high total of 21 points. Duchscherer scored two game-winning goals during the season (Oct. 15 vs. Pittsburgh and Oct. 19 at No. 26/21 UNCW) and recorded two multi-goal games.
His game-winning goal in the win at No. 26/21 UNCW was so sensational that it was featured by Fox Soccer's "The Buzzer" segment and has generated in excess of 134,000 views as of the time of this release.
On Oct. 27, Duchscherer earned CoSIDA Academic All-District status while carrying a 4.00 career GPA in Business Administration.
