Wolfpack Dominates Day Two of Wolfpack Invitational

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Wolfpack Invitational continued on Saturday, as the NC State men's tennis team racked up 13 wins on the second day of competition.
Five Wolfpackers advanced to the singles finals in their respective draws, taking all but one spot of the possible six in the final matches. In doubles action, The Pack had one team win its consolation final.
Singles Highlights:
Georgiy Malyshev, Paul Spencer, Chris Mikrovas, Nick Horton and Alexis Galarenau all advanced to the finals of their respective draws. All five won back-to-back matches on Saturday and have won three singles matches in the tournament so far.
Malyshev took down a pair of opponents in straight sets to advance to the final in the white draw. He will face Chris Humphreys of Elon in the final.
Spencer and Mikrovas advanced to the final of the black draw. The meeting will be a showdown between the top seeds in the draw. Spencer and Mikrovas dominated on their way to the final, winning in straight sets in both of their matches today.
In the red draw, Horton and Galarneau both defeated opponents from Duke en route to finals appearances. Horton took down TJ Pura and Ryan Dickerson, while Galarneau won over Elon's Mario Paccini and Duke's Robert Levine.
Michael Ogden nearly advanced to the final. He picked up a win over Marshall Warren of UNC-Wilmington, but fell in the semifinals. He added a walkover win in the third-place match.
Doubles Highlights:
Ivan Saveljic and Mikrovas won 8-3 in their consolation finals over JMU's Brett Moorhead and August Simonsen.
