NC State Faces Road Contest at Boston College

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State women's soccer team will travel to Boston College for a Sunday 1 p.m. kickoff at Newton Campus Lacrosse and Soccer Field in Newton, Mass. Both teams are currently receiving votes in the NSCAA Poll and averaging over two goals per match.
The Wolfpack enters the contest with an 8-3-0 (2-1-0 ACC) record, winners of seven of the last eight contests. Boston College posted a 9-2-1 (1-2-0 ACC) record to start the year. The last three matches between the two schools have all been decided by a goal.
A Win Would Be:
The ninth win of the season – most since 2011
The third ACC win of the season – most since 2006
The second win ever against Boston College
The first win over Boston College since 1990
The third win this season over a team receiving votes in the NSCAA Poll

Pack In the Polls:
NC State moved up in the RPI and NSCAA Poll after a comeback win over Wake Forest last weekend. The Pack is No. 25 in the RPI and is receiving 18 points in the NSCAA Poll – good for 28th in the nation.
Scouting Boston College:
Boston College had an impressive non-conference season, but has dropped a pair of close one-goal matches to start ACC play. The high-powered offense is outscoring opponents 32-10 and averaging 2.67 goals per match.
The Eagles are led by McKenzie Meehan and Hayley Dowd. The two have combined for 15 of the team's 32 goals. Meehan leads the team with 20 points from nine goals and two assists. Dowd has six goals and three assists for 15 points. BC also has four other players who have scored at least three goals this season.
Pack Attack:
NC State's attacking unit has scored 24 goals from 22 assists. The Wolfpack's scoring offense is ranked No. 36 in the NCAA with 2.27 goals per match. Six Wolfpackers are multi-goal scorers and 13 players have already found their way onto the score sheet with either a goal or an assist.
Youth Movement:
Freshmen account for five players in the Pack's starting lineup and eight have recorded either a goal or assist, while 10 have seen playing time.
The group is continuing to make a big impact and has scored the team's last 10 goals. Overall, freshmen have accounted for 67 percent of the team's points from 16 goals and 16 assists.
Tough Road Ahead:
NC State is currently in the middle of its toughest stretch of the schedule, facing nine consecutive opponents either ranked or receiving votes in the NSCAA Poll. It will also go through a stretch of four straight matches against the four highest ranked teams in the conference when it faces No. 10 Duke, No. 2 Florida State, No. 7 Virginia and No. 13 Clemson.
Last Time Out:
NC State earned its second ACC win of the year behind goals from Paige Griffiths and Tziarra King in a 2-1 victory over Wake Forest. The Wolfpack struck twice in a 40-second period to earn the come-from-behind victory.
The Wolfpack was the dominant team going forward, it outshot the Demon Deacons 10-3 and posted a 3-0 advantage in corner kicks.
