NC State Softball Listed No. 23 in Preseason Top-25 Poll

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Following the program's first trip to an NCAA Super Regional, the NC State softball team will start the 2016 season ranked among the top-25 polls for the first time in school history. The Wolfpack is listed at No. 23 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) / USA Today and No. 25 in the ESPN.com / USA Softball poll.

NC State garnered 114 points in the NFCA poll to sit at No. 23. Florida State was the highest ranked program from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) at No. 10, while Notre Dame was also listed among the top 25 at No. 24.

In the USA Softball poll, the Wolfpack was 25th with 47 points. Florida State was the only other ACC team ranked, checking in at No. 10. Notre Dame, Virginia Tech and North Carolina also received votes in the poll.
