Hranicka Named ACC Co-Freshman of the Week

Colorado native matched the program record with 12 blocks versus Tennessee
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Freshman Blayke Hranicka of the NC State women's volleyball team has been named ACC Co-Freshman of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
The Denver, Colo., native turned in three great performances at the Wolfpack's tournament over the weekend, finishing with 18 kills and a .410 attacking percentage.
Hranicka matched the program record with 12 blocks in NC State's win against previously unbeaten Tennessee on Saturday to win the tournament title. She collected three blocks versus Campbell and five in the squad's win against Hampton.
She also contributed offensively, putting down eight kills on Friday against Campbell. The freshman had six kills and also tallied two service aces in the Pack's win over Hampton.
For the season, Hranicka leads the conference and ranks 14th in the NCAA with a .438 hitting percentage. Additionally, she is second on the Wolfpack with 49 blocks, which is an average of 1.14 blocks per set.
NC State returns to action on Friday, Sept. 25, when it heads to Pittsburgh for the ACC opener at 7 p.m. inside Fitzgerald Field House.
